24 Hour Pharmacies in NYC

I made a list of 24 hour pharmacies in NYC.

tldr: I made a list of 24 hour pharmacies in NYC.

I love my pharmacy, but they are only open on weekdays between 9am and 6pm which makes them unusable for last-minute prescriptions. So, I wanted to find a 24 hour pharmacy as a fallback.

I started by searching on Yelp for a "24 Hour Pharmacy" in New York, NY.

I clicked on the first link and indeed Yelp says it is open 24 hours every day.

But when I went to the official website to get more information, it said that it is only open weekdays between 9am and 6pm. That's no better than my current pharmacy!

Maybe that was just bad luck, so I tried the second result on Yelp, the CVS at 298 Mulberry St. Once again Yelp said it was open 24 hours every day. But the official webpage clarified that it is only open 9am to 8pm on weekdays and 11am to 6pm on weekends.

This is better than my current pharmacy, but still not 24 hours. So, I tried the third result on Yelp, the Duane Reade at 60 Spring St. Yet again Yelp said it was open 24 hours every day, which I ignored this time and looked for the official webpage. This time the official webpage said that it was open 9am to 7pm on weekdays and 9am to 6pm on Saturdays.

At this point, I gave up on using Yelp and manually curated a list of 24 hour pharmacies by searching the official websites. Thankfully all of them supported filtering for 24 hour pharmacies.

I also looked around for independent pharmacies that were 24 hours and found none.

  5. CVS at 253 First Ave (Gramercy)
  6. CVS at 31-01 Ditmars Blvd (Astoria)
  7. CVS at 89-11 Northern Blvd (Jackson Heights)
  8. Walgreens at 11902 Rockaway Blvd (Ozone Park)
  9. Walgreens at 12704 Guy R Brewer Blvd (Jamaica)
  10. CVS at 4901 Kings Hwy (Brooklyn)

I packaged these into an Apple Maps guide.

Correction: An earlier version of this article missed a few pharmacies in Brooklyn and Queens. Those have now been added.
